September Productivity Bulletin, Reset

Intentional Productivity Strategy: It's that time of year again! Summer is slowing down, and the leaves are already changing, the air is getting cooler, and we're all starting to think about the best way to make the most of the next few months. September is a great time to revisit your current schedule and if you’re not doing this already, start time blocking your calendar. Here are some important notes to successful time blocking:

  • Create a separate calendar for your time blocks

  • Think about what are non-negotiable items for you and block them first

  • What is your best time of the day? When are you most productive?

Intentional Productivity Resources:

For some reason, September feels similar to January in the way that for some people it’s the start of the new (school or work) year. This is an excellent moment to start working smarter and not harder. One way to do this is to document your business procedures. Once this is done, outsourcing tasks will be a breeze. A tool I like is called Tango. It is a Chrome extension that captures your workflow using clicks on your screen and creates a PDF with images that you can use when creating standard operating procedures (SOP’s). You can also use this to create other manuals and instructional items.

Notion Tip: Has your Notion Menu on the left-hand side got longer and longer? Perhaps it is time to delete or archive some of those pages.

  • First look for pages that you can delete and actually delete them

  • For the archive, create (ironically) a new page named Pages archive or similar

  • On this new page you can add a database table where you are going to put the pages that you want to archive, add the date when you archived the page to keep track off how long this page is in the archive. You can even add additional tags for easy reference if there are a lot of pages.

What’s on:

  • I’m currently in Dublin to visit with some of my clients and work with them in person. Even though I normally work virtually, I find it very valuable to keep that human connection and establish a relationship.

  • Networking is the key to creating and maintaining new connections. There are a lot of different (online) business networks around, so try a few and find the ones that align with you and your business. I am a proud member of The Networking Hub. The Networking Hub is the gateway to professional business networking for Entrepreneurs, SMEs and Business Leaders. Their focus is on creating conscious connections and establishing a relationship, rather than selling or pitching. You can attend your first meeting for free!

  • Mabon and Autumnal Equinox 21st until 29th of September. The second of the harvest festivals and the beginning of autumn. Give thanks to those who helped you with your business by, for example, writing them a personal thank-you note.

  • Business as usual: I continue to help my clients with my Intentional Productivity Strategy Program, which is a holistic approach to Productivity, focused on creating or restoring balance. Clients experience how a more structured and organized business and life creates more time and space for the things that truly light you up and gets you (back) into your flow. If you feel overwhelmed with your daily workload and are looking for structure and efficiency in your (business) life, please get in touch and I might be able to help you lessen the load and make space for the things that truly matter.
