One of the best things about being an entrepreneur is that you can generally decide how you spend your time and energy. Sure you want to be successful and make some money, it’s not all fun and games right? For me, however, an important part of being an entrepreneur is that I am in a position to give back.
This is why I’ve made giving back part of my business mission, by selecting two causes that are in alignment with my values.
We live in a world where equal human rights and opportunities still aren’t a reality for everyone. People are being judged, mistreated, attacked or worse because of the colour of their skin, gender, sexual orientation or for just not fitting in the “normal” box.
I’m in the process of selecting an organization that supports LGTBQ and human rights and dedicate a minimum of 20% of my monthly time and energy to this organization.
Our planet is suffering from the way we’ve been treating her. The temperatures are rising, natural disasters are more and more common, and we only have 60 years worth of harvest left if we don’t step up now.
I have done my Soil Advocacy training with Kiss the Ground in 2020. This training has empowered me to transform into a valuable part of the soil health and regenerative agriculture movement by offering multiple advocacy pathways and giving me the confidence to effectively present and advocate to a variety of target audiences. I will continue to educate those around me regarding this subject. As a start, I provide my Soil talk as a free workshop in my Wellness@work programmes. www.simple-lifestyle.nl
Kiss the Ground has become a premier online educational hub for regenerative agriculture, offering an online “pathway” for anyone to find resources and their unique way forward in contributing to this expanding global movement. www.kisstheground.com
